Jamaica News, April 16, 2018 – Gunmen Invade Sav Bar
Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s New) – A group of heavily armed men opened fire on several patrons at a bar, in the parish of Westmoreland on Saturday night, killing one man on the spot and injuring another.
The injured man who is said to be a laborer in his mid-twenties, is presently still at hospital in serious condition. Meanwhile, the police has given the name of the deceased as 33-year-old Kerron Thomas, laborer of Meylers Avenue also in Savanna-la-mar.
The Savanna-la-mar police have reported that about 9:35 p.m. on Saturday night, April 14, Thomas and the other victim were among a group of patrons at a bar along Meylers Avenue when they were ambushed by a group of armed men who opened fire on the group.
The patrons ran in various directions to avoid being killed, but Thomas and the other man were both shot to the upper body.
The police were summoned to the scene and upon arrival, both Thomas and the other man were transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where Thomas was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
