Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: Investigators attached to the Savanna-la-mar CIB Department in Westmoreland say they have now officially charged a man who was caught in possession of an illegal homemade handgun in last Saturday afternoon of July 7th.
The investigators also stated that they will release the name of the accused in the next few days, as he is still being put through several processes.
Reports by the Negril police are that about 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties at a section of Whitehall district when they saw the accused acting in a suspicious manner.
He was accosted and searched, and a homemade metal handgun along with one live .38 rounds taken from his waistband.
He was taken into custody and subsequently charged on Wednesday.
