Westmoreland, Jamaica (McN) – A Westmoreland man who has been in jail for several years on a murder charge is sentenced to 7 years in prison.
Rodrick Ramsey, 35-year-old labourer, of Amity District, Westmoreland, was charged with the murder of a Ramble, Hanover man in 2002 and has been in police lock-up. He decided to plead guilty as his case seemed to be lingering with him spending more time in jail waiting for a jury trial.
He plead guilty to the murder charge, in the Home Circuit Court, on Friday.
His Attorney Delford Morgan, told the court, that his Ramsey did not wish to waste any more time in jail, and is entering a plea of guilty to the charge of murder.
He was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the by the court Justice.
