Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: As the joint military forces continue on their quest to rid the parish of Westmoreland of criminals, illegal firearms and other criminal elements. They again reaped success on Saturday afternoon, May 19, after they seized another illegal firearm in Hartford community. Two men were arrested and charged in connection with the seizure.
The Whithorne police reported that shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, a joint military team was on patrol in the area when they saw both men at a premises. The men were accosted and searched, and the illegal firearm, a Glock 17, 9-mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with 17 live rounds was seized.
The men were arrested and charged. Their names are being withheld pending further investigations.
