Westmoreland Gangster Sentenced to 12 Years for Murder

A Westmoreland gangster who pleaded guilty to the murders of two men, was sentenced to serve 12 years in prison when he appeared before the Hanover Circuit on Thursday, December 2.

The accused member of the Kings Valley Gang, has been identified as Lindell Powell, otherwise called ‘Lazarus’ of a Grange Hill address in Westmoreland.

Upon his previous appearance in court on Wednesday, November 17, Powell pleaded guilty to the murder of Ida Clarke, which was committed on March 26,2017 and the murder of Oral McIntosh, which was committed on January 7, 2017.

Powell, who has two previous convictions of illegal possession of firearm and ammunition was sentenced to 18 months in prison, in 2019,and he is now being sent to prison again for murder and must serve a minimum of 10 years before parole.
