Jamaica Sports News: The West Indies registered a 7 wicket win over Bangladesh, in the first of their three-match T20 international series, at Warner Park in St.Kitts on Tuesday.

The victory was highlighted by a career best bowling performance of 4 for 28 from Kesrick Williams and an unbeaten 35 from Andre Russel, in the rain affected game.

After being asked to bat, Bangladesh could only manage 143 for 9 from their allotted overs, with Mahmudullah 35, scoring most runs.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

Set a revised target of 91 off 11 overs after rain delayed the West Indies response by more than 90 minutes, Russell blasted an unbeaten 35 off 21 balls, with three fours and three big sixes, to take his team to 93 for 3 off 9.1 overs.

The final two matches will be played in Florida on the weekend.
