Jamaica Crime News, Manchester: A 38-year-old Welder was shot and killed by unknown assailants at his home in Alligator Pond, Manchester on Tuesday, August 7.

He has been identified as Andrew Powell of Emporium District also in Alligator Pond.

Reports by the police are that about 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday, residents living in Emporium district alerted the police after hearing gunshots being fired in the direction of Powell’s home.

The Jamaica music fraternity was plunged into mourning after the passing of “Carrot” formerly of world renowned group Third World.

The lawmen rushed to the location and upon arrival, Powell was discovered inside his house in a pool of blood.  The victim had what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Powell was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
