Jamaica News: MoBay Boys Club Warriors and UWI Western Campus Jay Hawks had contrasting victories to secure 1-nil leads in their best of three Western Basketball Association Division 1 league semi finals on Sunday.

The Warriors on the back of a game high 26 points from Ralique Grant defeated Darliston Mystros 80-69.

Grant also notched up 9 boards, 6 assists and 5 steals.

Terrence Tate was the Mystros’ top man with 24 points and 9 boards.

The JayHawks in the meantime were awarded 20 points and with it game 1 after Holland Blue Rebels failed to show for their game.

Meanwhile in the Elite League, Catherine Hall AllStars had a narrow 68-67 win over strugglers Sav Elite Titans. The All stars record for the season now stand at 8 wins and 3 losses. But for the titans it was their 10th defeat in 11 outings.

In the other game the Cornwall Court Chargers secured a much needed win over the Innercity Avalanche to take their record to 3 wins and 8 losses.

The game ended 70-46. With this defeat the Avalance now have just 1 win in 11 games.
