Jamaica News, April 9, 2018 – Wanted Man Being Sought
St James, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The police in St James say they have now launched a manhunt for a man, who was already being sought by the law for absconding bail, and for aiming a firearm at members of a police party on Sunday, April 8, in Anchovy policing area.
Two other men who were also traveling with the accused have since been taken into custody and are being questioned.
The police say, the man who is now being sought has been identified as Clive Robb of a Comfort Hall address also in the Anchovy area.
Robb they say was out on bail and facing the Western Regional Gun Court on Charges of Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition until he recently absconded bail.
Reports are that, about 4:30 pm on Sunday, officers at the Anchovy police Station received information that three men were seen traveling in a Toyota Vitz motor car and one of the men were armed with a handgun.
The police staged a roadblock at the border of Roehampton and Comfort Hall, where they saw a vehicle fitting the description traveling towards them.
The police signalled the driver to stop and he complied. The driver and a male passenger were ordered from the vehicle and the police observed a third man who was later identified as Robb seated in the back seat of the car.
He too was ordered from the vehicle, but immediately he jumped around the steering wheel, pointed a firearm in the directions of the police and drove away.
The police took evasive action and fired at the gunman, but he managed to escape in the vehicle.
Both the driver and the other male passenger were taken into custody and are now being questioned.
