Wanted Man Arrested, Illegal Firearm and Ammunition Seized in August Town
Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: A Joint military operation which was carried out in August Town on Thursday, November 1, led to the arrest of ten persons, one of whom the police say was being sought for murder, along with one illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition.
Reports by the August Town police are that about 4:30 a.m., a joint military team armed with several search warrants, carried out an operation in August Town and its surroundings.
During the operation, the police executed over thirty-six search warrants in areas such as Bedward Gardens, May Lane, Jungle 12, Gold Smith Villa and Hermitage.
A total of 66 persons were taken into custody and detained, nine of whom are said to be persons of Interest and one who is said to be wanted in a case of murder.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of one illegal handgun, seven 5.56 rounds of ammunition and a single 7.62 round of ammunition.
