Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: The Whithorn police in the parish of Westmoreland have confirmed that, one of the six men that was taken into custody, in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm in Galloway District on Sunday morning, June 3, was being sought in connection with several crimes committed in the area.
The investigators have pointed out that, the accused who hails from Doman Lane in Galloway District was being sought in connection with several shootings, armed robberies and murders in the Whithorn policing area.
The investigators also stated that, neither the wanted man nor the other five persons taken into custody have not yet been charged, so they are unable to release any names at this time.
Reports are that the police acted upon intelligence and carried out an operation at a house in Galloway District in the Whithorn area about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday.
During the search of the house, the wanted man was apprehended along with the five other occupants.
A Smith and Wesson 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with several live rounds was discovered concealed in the house.
The police stated that all six occupants of the house who were taken into custody are expected to be charged in connection with the firearm seizure and Harboring a Fugitive.
