Latest Jamaica News, Montego Bay (McKoy’s News): US Tourist Mowed Down – The St James Police are now asking members of the public for their assistance, to identify the driver of a hit and run vehicle, which mowed down an American Tourist in Lilliput, St James, on Saturday night, September 28.
The tourist who has since been identified as 38-year-old James Dirheimer, water controller of Lower Oak, in Edgewood, Kentucky, USA, has since been admitted to hospital in serious condition.
Reports by the police are that about 11:40 p.m., on Saturday, Dirheimer who was vacationing at the Ibero Star Resort in Rosehall, St James, was walking across the roadway with a friend, towards the hotel compound.
The driver of a white motor car which was travelling from the directions of Montego Bay towards Falmouth, mowed down the tourist and sped away.
The police were summoned and the wounded tourist rushed to the hospital where he was treated and admitted in serious condition.
