United States (McKoy’s News) – US employment jumped by 222,000 in June, more than expected.

The US Department of Labor also revised up the job creation estimates for April from 174,000 to 207,000 and May, from 138,000 to 152,000.

It said employment increased in health care, social assistance, financial activities, and mining.

Employment growth has averaged 180,000 per month so far this year, in line with the average monthly gain of 187,000 in 2016.

The unemployment rate rose to 4.4% from May’s 4.3%.
