Jamaica Breaking News, Westmoreland: The murder count in Grange Hill Westmoreland has now moved from six deaths to seven from Tuesday morning of May 1st to Wednesday morning of May 2nd.
The police have reported that seven persons including a baby and another infant, were shot and killed as gunmen went on a rampage in the Grange Hill area of Westmoreland, on Tuesday morning into Tuesday night.
Six persons who were shot and wounded still remain at hospital in serious condition, while three houses and a shop have been completely burnt to the ground.
Dead are , Joyan Myers, 21-year-old laborer of New Town, Odane Drummond, otherwise called “Ziggy” of Sterling District, Nadine Rowe and her 11-year-old child Nicoy Bourne, Sheldon Morgan Snr and his 2-year-old son Sheldon Morgan Jr, both of Sterling District and Tristan Brown, 22-year-old unemployed of Top Lincoln District.

Reports are that, gunmen travelling in a Silver motor car drove into the Sterling community shortly after 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday and opened fire on a number of persons.
When the men left the area, Drummond along with a female clothes vendor and three other males were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
They were all rushed to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where Drummond was pronounced dead and the other four victims admitted in serious condition.
Gunmen struck again about 8:30 p.m. in the said community, where they went to the home of the female Nadine Rowe and shot her to death along with her 11-year-old son.
The armed men did not stop there, they went to another section of the community and open fire on Morgan and his son, killing them on the spot.
The gunmen then drove to the adjoining community called Top Lincoln where they opened fire on another group of persons at a shop, killing Brown and shooting and injuring another man.
Then about 10:00 p.m., the gunmen went to Fullers Field community and opened fire on Myers and a group of friends at a premises which occupied a shop and three houses. The men ran from the building into an open field where they hid.
The gunmen then set the houses and the shop on fire burning them to the ground.
About 7:00 am on Wednesday an alarm was raised when residents stumbled upon Myers body with gunshot wounds in the field.
A search is now on the way for two other men who were in the building with Myers and who have still not yet been found.
