Jamaica Crime News, Clarendon: One woman was shot and killed, and another shot injured when gunmen invaded a bar in York Town, Clarendon, on Sunday morning, May 12.
The deceased has been identified as Antoinette Bernard, who is also from York Town district.
The other woman is currently at hospital in serious condition.
Reports are that, about 2:00 a.m., both women were among patrons at an event being held at a bar in York Town, when a group of armed men invaded the venue.
The gunmen opened fire, hitting both victims before making their escape on foot in the area.
The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Bernard and the other injured female were both rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead and the other woman treated and admitted.
The police also took the promoter into custody, because he was told by the police to turn off the music, long before the shooting actually took place, but he ignored their warning.
