Jamaican News, February 27, 2018- Jaydeen Grant’s Murder Suspect Arrested.
Hanover, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The Hanover police have now confirmed that a man who was slated as a person of Interest in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Jaydeen Grant from the Argyle Mountain district is now in police custody.
According to investigators, the decomposing body parts of the missing teen, who disappeared since February 3, were discovered in bushes of Hanover on Friday, February 16. The police have theorised that her attacker(s) may have chopped her to pieces after her death and then dumped her body parts in the section of bushes.
Police investigators are also probing the connection between the 17-year-old’s death and an incident which occurred in the Bethel Town, Westmoreland area involving her father and a man, where her father was taken into police custody earlier this month.
Argyle mountain covers both the parish of Hanover and the parish of Westmoreland, Jaydeen lived with her relatives in the Westmoreland section. Her body parts were found in the Hanover section of Argyle Mountain.
Reports are that shortly after 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 16, residents living at the Hanover section of Argyle Mountain alerted the Ramble police when they stumbled upon a decomposing and mutilated body in bushes. Officers attached to both Ramble and Bethel Town rushed to the scene and discovered that the findings were that of the missing Jaydeen Grant.
According to the police, sections of her body parts and her hair were all seen scattered in the bushes.
Jaydeen Grant’s Murder Suspect Arrested: Investigators state that the name of the main suspect cannot be released at this time because the investigation is ongoing, however, the suspect is awaiting questioning in the murder of Jaydeen Grant.
