Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The police in the parish of St Catherine are now making a public appeal to residents for their assistance, to identify a man who was discovered shot to death in the back seat of an abandoned motor vehicle in Central Village on Monday, July 30.
Reports by the Central Village police are that about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, a team of officers were carrying out patrols duties along a section of Windsor Heights main road.
The lawmen signalled the driver of a Nissan X-Trail motor car to stop but the driver disobeyed and sped away.
The lawmen gave chase but the gunmen managed to elude them.
The police were still searching in the area when they saw the vehicle parked along a section of Gilgald Road. Upon investigating, the officers stumbled upon the body which was lying in the back seat of the car with bullet wounds to the head.
The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
