UNIDENTIFIED GUNMAN FATALLY SHOT IN ST. JAMES

An Unidentified man was shot and killed during a confrontation with the police in Montego Bay, St. James, on Saturday afternoon, March 16.

The police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance to identify the slain gunman.

Reports by the Freeport police are that shortly after 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, a team of officers carried out an operation at sections of Catherine Hall Community, in search of a wanted man.

On reaching the vicinity of the Catherine Hall round-about the lawmen say they saw three men walking along the roadway.

Upon seeing the lawmen approaching the men brandished handguns and challenged the police in a shootout. During the shooting, the unidentified gunman was shot and killed, while his two cronies managed to escape.

A single action Browning pistol along with several rounds of ammunition was taken from the unidentified gunman.
