Jamaica Crime News, St Thomas: The police in the parish of St Thomas have reported that they are now preparing to lay criminal charges against two men, who were discovered in possession of an illegal firearm, during a spot check carried out in the parish on Friday, July 27.
The names of both accused are being withheld until criminal charges have been laid against them.
Reports by the police are that about 5:30 p.m. on Friday, a team of officers were carrying out vehicular spot checks along a section of the Bull Bay main road.
The lawmen signaled the driver of a white Nissan AD Wagon motorcar to stop.
The driver complied and during a search of the vehicle, the police saw a knapsack in the front passenger seat.
The knap-sack was searched and found to contain a .38 revolver loaded with three live rounds. The driver and a male passenger were both taken into custody in connection with the seizure.
