Jamaica Crime News, St James: Two men, who are both from St. James addresses were taken into custody by detectives attached to the Lottery Scam Task Force, during an operation carried out at a section of Bogue Village in Montego Bay, St James on Thursday, January 31.
The police reported that the men whose identities are being withheld pending an interview in the presence of their lawyers, were taken into custody on reasonable suspicion of breaches of the Corruption Prevention and Law Reform Act.
Reports are that, during the hours of 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., a team of officers attached to the Lottery Scam Task Force carried out an operation at a section of Bogue Village, in Bogue, Montego Bay.
During the operation, a house occupied by the men were searched and items used as tools in the illegal lottery scamming were found.
The items consist of cell phones, laptops and several lead sheets with the names, addresses and telephone numbers of persons living overseas.
