Two Persons of Interest in Connection with Latest Double Murder in Hanover, Now in Police Custody

Jamaica Crime News, Hanover: The Lucea police in the parish of Hanover have reported that,  the two men whose names were recently released as Persons of Interest, in  connection with the shooting death of a woman and her son,  and the shooting and wounding of another man, in the community of  Elgin Town in Wednesday night,  August 15, are now in police custody.

Both men who were identified as Jamar Johnson, otherwise called  “Satan”  and Gavin Seaton, otherwise called  “Willow”, both of Elgin Town, turned themselves over to the police earlier this week.

The police also stated that both men were recently questioned in the presence of their lawyers and are now being reviewed.

The men were been sought in connection with the Friday, August 17, the murder of 40-year-old Carlene Graver and her 26-year-old son Uton Cocket, otherwise called “Bigga”, both of Elgin Town in Lucea, Hanover.

Another man who is said to be in his early forties was also shot and injured during the incident.

Reports by the police are that about 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday,  Graver along with her son and the other man, were at their house in Binns Lane, Elgin Town when a group of men armed with high-powered weapon entered the yard.

The gunmen opened fire hitting all three victims to their upper bodies, they then made his escape on foot in the area.

Other family members and residents living in the yard went to investigate and then alerted the police and upon arrival, Graver, her son and the other man were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were rushed to the Noel Holmes hospital where the two were pronounced dead and the wounded man admitted in stable condition.

The double murder of the mother and her son have taken place just weeks following the shooting death of a 91-year-old  woman and her 15-year-old neighbour in a neighbouring community in Lucea.

In the meanwhile, the police have named Uton Cocket as the alleged leader for the “One Link gang” which operates out of Elgin Town.

Crocket was arrested a few months ago and is presently before the Court, during his last appearance in court he was placed under curfew orders by the judge.

He is also the nephew of Valdemier Chamber, otherwise called “Wingie” the original reputed gang leader of the “One link gang“.  Chambers was gunned down in Hanover on September of 2016.
