Two Men Shot in Bethel Town, Westmoreland

Jamaica Crime News, Westmoreland: One man was shot and killed and another shot and injured in Bethel Town , Westmoreland on Saturday midday of May 19th.

The police have not yet released the name of the deceased, but our news team learnt that he is known as “Sandlo” formally of Flankers community in St James but now resides at Marl Road in Bethel Town.

The police say both men who are now vegetable farmers are affiliated with a popular gang which operated out of Bethel Town area.

It is reported that about 12:00 noon on Saturday, both men who were selling vegetable in the Bethel Town area, received a telephone call that some customer wanted to purchase vegetables at a section of the area known as Smoke Hole.

The men walked to the area and while in the process of passing a shop, they were ambushed by a lone gunman who opened fire hitting them both to their upper bodies then escaped in the area on foot.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the wounded men were transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where the man know as Shandlo was pronounced dead and the other man admitted in serious condition.
