Latest Jamaica News, St Catherine (McKoy’s News): Two men who were among a group of five persons who went to the home of a painter in the parish of St Catherine, on Saturday and shot him multiple times before setting his home on fire, were arrested and charged on Thursday, November 14.
Facing charges of arson, wounding with Intent, and illegal possession of firearm and ammunition are, 39-year-old Zane Smith, construction worker of Browns Hall, St Catherine and 29-year-old Demoy Dixon, labourer of Belfield district in Mark Hill, also in the parish.
Reports by the police are that on the weekend, both accused and two other men to the home of the 39-year-old painter, and shot him multiple times.
They then left him for dead, but not before setting his house on fire. After the gunmen had left, the wounded man managed to call for help and he was rushed to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition.
A report was made to the police and following an investigation, Dixon and Smith were taken into custody, and later charged.
