Two men are now in police custody, after an operation carried out by officers attached to the Area Three Narcotics Division, resulted in the seizure of 200 pounds of ganja, along the Toll Gate main road in the parish on Wednesday, February 13.
The identities of the men taken into custody are being withheld pending further investigations.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, the police were carrying out an operation along a section of the Toll Gate main road.
The lawmen say they saw both accused travelling on board a motor car and they were signaled to stop. The driver complied, and during a search of the vehicle, they discovered five black plastic bags containing ganja.
The drug has an estimated street value of JA $800,000.
