Jamaica News, Manchester: The Manchester police have now released the names of the two male victims who lost their lives in a four-vehicular collision, which occurred along a section of the Melrose Bypass in Manchester on Wednesday evening, May 9.
Dead are Fabian Edwards of a Kingston 20 address and Christopher Pengelley of a Waterford address in St Catherine.
The investigators also pointed out that, seven other persons who were also seriously injured in the accident still remain at hospital in serious condition.
Reports are that shortly after 5:00 p.m., both men were traveling in an SUV which was being driven by Edwards. The ill-fated vehicles which include two trucks, a bus and an SUV, were traveling along the roadway in the vicinity of the Melrose Bypass.
On reaching a section of the Melrose Bypass, the driver of a motor truck which was traveling in the opposite direction was in the process of overtaking, when he collided into the vehicle being driven by Edwards.
Both vehicles then collided with another motor truck and a minivan. The impact of the crash resulted in all four vehicles being extensively damaged while Edwards and Pengelley sustained head and body injuries. They both died on the spot.
Seven other persons who were traveling in the other ill-fated vehicles also sustained body injuries and had to be transported to hospital, where they were treated and admitted in serious condition.
