Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Two Gunmen Fatally Shot by Westmoreland Police: Two men who reportedly challenged the police in a gunbattle in Orange Hill on Thursday morning (May 25) were fatally shot and two illegal firearms seized.
One of the dead gunmen has been identified has Dermart Williams, who was on the “most wanted list” while the other gunman still remains unidentified.
Reports are that, about 2:30 am on Thursday, a team of officers went to a house in Orange Hill, in search of armed men.
On reaching the house, the lawmen were greeted with gunfire, the police took evasive actions and the gunfire was returned.
During the gunbattle, several men were seen running from the house into nearby bushes.
Minutes later, a search was carried out in the area. Williams and the other man were found suffering from gunshot wounds while clutching two illegal firearms.
The firearms were seized and the wounded men transported to the Sav-la-mar Hospital where they were both pronounced dead upon arrival.
The police say Williams has been on the parish “most wanted list” for some time now. Additionally, he and his cronies have been behind a number of shootings armed robberies and murders which are been committed in the parish of Westmoreland.
