Truck Purchasing Empty Bottles Crushed Elderly Woman to Death, in St James

Jamaica News, St James: An elderly woman was crushed to death by the driver of a truck, who was transporting persons purchasing empty bottles, in Montego Bay, St James, on Friday, June 14.

The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Jennifer Wright, of a Whitehouse address, also in St James.

Reports by the Coral Gardens police are that about 12:15 p.m., on Friday, Wright was standing along a section of the roadway in the Whitehouse community, when a truck transporting persons purchasing empty bottles, drove to the area.

The driver of the truck was in the process of reversing, when he accidentally ran over the elderly woman, who was standing immediately behind the vehicle.

The wounded woman was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
