Jamaica News, St Catherine: Truck Driver Killed – A popular truck driver who is contracted to West Indies Alumina Company ( WINDALCO) lost his life in a freak accident which occurred in Linstead, St Catherine, on Monday afternoon March 18.
He has been identified as Kevar Clive Burrell, a truck driver who resided at Treadway district in Linstead, St. Catherine.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Burrell and a group of co-workers, were working in slippery wet conditions at a property in the area, when he parked the truck on an embankment.
Burrell alighted from the vehicle and was standing to the side, when the embankment collapsed and the truck capsized and fell on him.

Burrell got pinned underneath the truck for over five hours, and when other workers came on the scene and managed to raise the truck with the heavy equipment, the truck driver was already dead.
The police were also summoned and upon their arrival, Burrell was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead, and his body removed to the morgue.
