Jamaica Crime News, Manchester: The Manchester police are now carrying out searches in sections of the parish, for a group of gunmen who shot and injured a truck driver and a passenger who is believed to be a sideman, along the Melrose Bypass on Friday morning, May 18.
The lawmen further stated that both victims are presently still at hospital in stable condition.
Reports by the police are that shortly after 1:30 a.m. on Friday, the truck driver and the other man were travelling in an Isuzu motor truck heading towards Mandeville.
On reaching a section of the Melrose Bypass, a group of men travelling in a Toyota Yaris motor car blocked their path.
The driver of the truck upon seeing what was taking place, attempted to drive around the car and immediately the men on board brandished handguns and opened fire.
Both the driver and the male passenger received gunshot wounds to their bodies, but the driver still managed to go around the parked car and drive to the hospital, where they were both treated and admitted.
The Mandeville police were also informed of the incident and are now carrying out investigations.
