Jamaica News, Kingston: The local Energy sector has been rocked by yet another high profile resignation.
A letter which surfaced today indicated that Trevor Forrest has left his position as chairman of the Spectrum Management Authority.
The resignation took effect 5 pm on Tuesday, July 31.
Mr. Forrest in the letter said he has “never been afraid to take responsibility for his actions” and so he has resigned “in the best interest of the people of Jamaica and Spectrum authority”.
His resignation follows hot on the heels of several other departures, most noteworthy the Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Andrew Wheatley as well as Carolyn Warren of the National Energy Solutions.
The state level leadership of the energy sector has been rocked in recent days by allegations of mismanagement of tax payer’s money, improper conduct towards appointments and meddling in recruitment and employment.
