Jamaica Crime News, Trelawny: Detectives attached to the Clark’s Town and Falmouth CIB Departments in the parish of Trelawny say they have now taken a man into custody for questioning, in connection with the murder of a female farmer in Clark’s Town, Trelawny on Thursday night, February 14.

The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Valerie Thompson of Panasus district also in Clark’s Town.

Reports by the Clark’s Town police are that about 8:30 a.m., on Thursday, Thompson left her home to visit her farm which is located at a section of the area known as Hampshire Lane.

When she did not return home in the afternoon, members of her family got worried and called her cell phone, but all their calls went unanswered.

About 8:30 p.m., on Thursday night, family members formed a search party and carried out a search for her.

Ms Thompson’s mutilated body was discovered in bushes on a section of her farm. The lawmen say her shoes and clothing were found a distance from her body which was naked, and some of her fingers and her head severed.
