A traffic cop who stationed at the Kingston Traffic Division is presently still at the hospital in critical condition, after he was shot and seriously injured by a lone gunman who was in the process of carrying out a robbery along a section of Tarrant Drive, in the parish on Saturday afternoon, September 16th.
Investigators say the gunman who is known to the law officers in the Division, is slated as a Person of Interest and is presently on the run.
Reports by the Kingston police are that about 11:45 am, the traffic officer who was off duty and travelling on a motorcycle, intercepted a robbery in progress along a section of Tarrant Drive, in the vicinity of Ambrook Lane.
The officer challenged the gunman, who opened fire hitting the police officer several times in both legs.
The gunman then made his escape in the area, while residents in the community alerted the police, and upon arrival, they rushed their comrade to hospital , where he was admitted in critical condition.
