Reggae Entertainers Buju Banton, Skip Marley, Maxi Priest, The Wailers and Toots and the Maytals have been nominated for a Grammy Award in the best Reggae Album category.
The nominees were revealed this afternoon.
The projects are: Buju Banton’s Upside Down 2020, Skip Marley’s EP ‘Higher Place’, Maxi Priest ‘It All Comes Back To Love’, ‘Got to Be Tough’ by Toots And The Maytals and ‘One World’ by the Wailers.
The Grammys Awards is set to take place Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Toots and the Maytals frontman, Toots Hibbert, passed away September 11 at age 77 after battling coronavirus.
He remained reggae’s top touring act as of 2019, with sold-out shows in Europe and North America. Got to be Tough, his last album, was released in August by Trojan Jamaica/BMG.
Meanwhile, Buju Banton’s Upside Down is his thirteenth studio album. It was released on June 26, 2020 through Gargamel Music and Roc Nation.
