” Tippa” Wanted For Shooting And Wounding Police Constable, In Montego Bay

Jamaica News: The St James Police say they are asking members of the public for assistance to locate a man, who is alleged to be behind the shooting and wounding of a police Constable, following a minor motor vehicle accident in Porto Bello community on Sunday morning, September 22.
He has been identified as 24-year-old Travis Malcolm, otherwise called “Tippa” also of a Salt Spring road and Porto Bello address, in St James.
Malcolm is being sought in connection with the shooting of Constable Kashene Peterkin, who is attached to the Area One police command.
Reports by the Freeport police are that about 2:55p.m., on Sunday morning, Constable Peterkin and a female companion were driving towards his home in his private motor car.
On reaching a section of the Porto Bello main road, the driver of another vehicle hit his car and sped away. The officer gave chase, but the driver of the other vehicle managed to elude him.
Constable Peterkin pulled up alongside the roadway and was accessing the damages, when the said vehicle which crashed into him drove back to the location and a male passenger brandished a rifle, and shot the officer in his chest.
Constable Peterkin managed to return the fire and the men sped away, but not before the wounded cop got the registration number of the car.
The wounded cop was assisted to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was admitted in serious condition, and the motor vehicle licenses plate given to the police.
Following investigations, the owner of the vehicle was taken into custody, and Malcolm being sought as the shooter.
