Jamaica Crime News, St James: One man who appeared before the Gun Court in St James on Wednesday, August 15, to answer to charges of Illegal Possession of and Dealing in Ganja, pleaded guilty.
The accused has been identified as George Grant, otherwise called “Blane” 31-year-old Tiler of Maffota district also in St James.
Reports by the police are that about 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 29, a joint military team carried out an operation at a house in Maffota.

During the search of the house, the lawmen discovered a .45 Pistol loaded with six live .45 rounds and an empty 9mm magazine, wrapped in a black plastic bag.
Grant along with his 66-year-old step-father who occupy the premises were taken into custody. Following an investigation, Grant informed the lawmen that he was the one who hid the firearm.
The elderly man was later released and Grant slapped with charges.
Grant pleaded guilty in court and was ordered to return on October 19, when he will be sentenced.
