Three Taxi Operators Fined $210,000 for 1, 489 Unpaid Traffic Tickets

Three transport operators who were arrested by officers attached to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch for 1, 489 unpaid traffic tickets, were fined a total of $210,000, when they appeared before the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court on Monday, September 23.
The men who have been identified as 40-year-old Roger Bartley, a bus operator of Eltham View, Spanish Town, and he has 1, 028 outstanding traffic tickets. Bartley was fined $84,000 and his licenses suspended for two years.
Thirty-nine-year-old Andrew Bailey, a taxi operator of Tavern Crescent in Kingston 6, and he has 272 outstanding tickets. Bailey was fined $72,000 and had his licenses suspended for one year.
Thirty-six-year-old Dwayne Barrett, a taxi operator of Stony Hill, and he has 189 unpaid tickets. Barrett was fined a total of $54,000 and his licenses also suspended for two years.
The Operation which started at 8:00 a.m., last Friday, led to the arrest of the three men and showed that they had a total of 1, 489 unpaid tickets.
