Three shot, one dead in a shooting incident in St Ann

One man killed and three others injured by gunmen in Hibiscus Way, St Ann on Sunday. Dead is 55-year-old Anthony Taylor, a mechanic of Lewis district, while the other three currently nursing gunshot wounds at hospital are 24-year-old Jamiel Ellis, alias ‘Munga’ of Steer Town and 32-year-old Oniel Wynter, alias ‘Pumba’, also of Steer Town, all in St Ann.

Police reports are at about 9am, Taylor was working on a motorcar along the roadway in Priory which had earlier met in an accident in ‘The Garden Parish’. It is alleged that armed men travelling in a Totyota Fielder motor car approached Taylor, and three other bystanders, and opened gunfire in the drive by shooting. The police were alerted and upon their arrival, all four men were suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to hospital where Taylor was pronounced dead and the other men admitted in serious, but stable condition.

No motive has been established for the killing while the St. Ann Police are investigating.
