Three Men Taken into Custody in Connection with St Ann Firearm Seizure

Jamaica Crime News, St Ann: St Ann Firearm Seizure – Three men are now in police custody in the parish of St Ann following the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition on Wednesday morning of July 4th.

The police have also indicated that the identities of the three accused are being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the Cave Valley Police are that about 1215 a.m. on Wednesday, a team of police officers were carrying out patrol duties in the vicinity of the Cave Valley Town Centre when they signaled the driver of a Toyota Sprinter Motorcar to stop.

The driver who was in the company of two male passengers complied and following a search of the vehicle, a  .45 pistol loaded with six live rounds was discovered hidden underneath the front seat of the car.

A knapsack which one of the men was carrying was also searched and found to contain 4 additional  .45 rounds.  The three men were arrested and are waiting to be charged.
