At least three supporters of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) have been rushed to hospital with life threatening injuries after they fell from a bus transporting people to the party’s annual conference now underway at the National Arena.
People on the scene said that the JLP supporters appeared to be partying on the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus when a window broke, causing them to fall from the moving vehicle on Constant Spring Road close to its intersection with Dunrobin Avenue.
But, even as those supporters were being taken to hospital, other JUTC buses passed the scene with people dressed in green, riding on the tops.
The police had warned that there would be zero tolerance to breaches of the Road Traffic Act for those attending the conference but there are no visible patrols in the vicinity of the Constant Spring and Dunrobin Avenue intersection.
