Jamaica Crime News, St James: As the joint military forces in the parish of St James continue on their drive to rid the parish of criminals and criminal elements, the security forces again reaped success on Tuesday morning of July 25th, with the seizure of three illegal firearms, along with two-hundred and twenty-four rounds of assorted ammunition.
No one has been arrested so far in connection with the seizure.
Reports by the Granville police are that about 11:30 a.m. a joint military team carried out an operation at a premises located along Gordon Crescent in Granville.
During the operation, an abandoned house on the premises was searched and the three weapons discovered.
The police further reported that two of the firearm, a Smith and Wesson .40 pistol along with sixty-three .40 cartridges, a Smith and Wesson 9mm semi-automatic pistol along with sixty-eight 9mm cartridges were discovered in the eave of the roof of the house.
An additional sixty-four 5.56 cartridges and two magazines were also found hidden in the roof.
Further searches of the premises led to the discovery of the third weapon, a Ruger 9mm semi-automatic pistol along with twenty-nine cartridges, were discovered hidden beside the perimeter fencing.
