Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Prime Minister Andrew Holness has now declared the third State of Public Emergency, for a parish which is said to be plagued with murders and criminal activities.
On Sunday morning, September 21, Prime Minister Holness imposed a State of Emergency for sections of Kingston and St. Andrew.
This is the third such State of Public Emergency, which as being imposed across the Island since the start of the year and Prime Minister Holness reported that, the decision was made due to the large upsurge of crime which has been taking place in these police divisions.
This latest State of Public Emergency will blanket across sections of St. Andrew South, Kingston Central and Kingston Western.
The first State of Public Emergency was called in St. James in February of 2018, then the second imposed in March, across the St. Catherine North division.
