Jamaica News, April 10, 2018 – Thief Held at Carnival Road March with Cell Phones and Jewelry
Kingston, Jamaica (JCF) – A man who was held by the Police with several cellular phones and jewelry, believed to be stolen property, following the Carnival Road March on Sunday, April 08 has been charged for breaches of the Larceny Act.
Charged is 20-year-old Jamar Myrie of Kirkview Terrace, Ingleside, Manchester.
Myrie who was searched at a checkpoint was found with five cellular phones and several pieces of jewelry. Detectives assigned to the Half Way Tree Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) appealed for persons to come forward and identify these properties that may have been stolen from them during the Carnival Road March.
Three persons have since come forward, resulting in Myrie being charged with three counts of “Larceny from the Person“. His court date will be announced soon.
The officers are again appealing to persons who may have been victims of larceny, during the Carnival Road March, to contact the Half Way Tree Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) at 926-8184, Police 119 emergency number or the nearest Police Station.
