Many citizens of St James and the downtown area of the second city are very much upset and concern with the bad condition that the St James Parish Library is in. For several weeks now, the library is in an unkept look, which is an eyesore to the general public. The grass has overgrown so much that it is impossible to walk through due to height. Reliable sources said that for the past few weeks, the Caretaker who maintain the place was dismissed, and from that time of his dismissal, no one was hired for the job.
A few months ago, police personnel were assigned duty to visit the library two times per day to get rid of the unruly behaviours of many school students, who congregate there daily. But since the COVID outbreak, things have petered out where the library is almost like a ghost town.
