Tension on the Rise in August Town

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: Tension is now on the rise in August Town, Kingston 17, following the weekend shooting on Sunday, February 17, which has since left one man dead, and another nursing gunshot injuries at hospital

Dead is Andrews Mariott, laborer of Goldsmith Villa, Kingston 7, while the identity of the injured man is being withheld.

Reports by the August Town police are that about 11:50 a.m., Mariott and the other victim were among a group of men standing along the roadway in August Town, when they were ambushed by men armed with high-powered weapons.

The men opened fire hitting both men before making their escape in the area. The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Mariott and the other man were rushed to hospital, where Mariott was pronounced dead. The other man was admitted in stable condition.
