Teenager Charged For Stabbing Death of Gardener in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Grants Pen police confirmed that criminal charges have now been laid against a 17-year-old teenage boy was taken into custody, in connection with the stabbing death of a man in the Grants Pen area of Kingston on Saturday night, May 19, 2018.

The police also confirmed that the teen whose identity cannot be disclosed was recently charged with the murder of Errol Whyte, 61-year-old Gardener of Fagon Avenue in Kingston 8.

Reports by the Grants Pen police are that shortly after 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, Whyte was sitting on a wall along a section of the Grants Pen main road when he was approached by the teenager.

An argument developed between the two, during what time the teen reportedly brandished a knife which he used to inflict several stab wounds to the Whyte’s upper body.

Whyte was transported to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.  Following the incident, the police were summoned and upon arrival, the teenager was taken into custody.
