Teenager Charged for Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: The Denham Town Police have reported that, they have now laid criminal charges against a 17-year-old boy, who was found in possession of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition at a premises in Kingston on Wednesday, May 8.

The investigators pointed out that, the name of the accused who hails from Ramsey Road in Kingston 13 is being withheld.

Reports by the police are that, a team of officers carried out an operation in the Maxfield Avenue area of Kingston, about 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday. During the operation, the teen was spotted and searched.  A search of his person led to the seizure of a Glock 9-mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with (10) live 9 mm rounds.

The teenager was taken into custody and was officially charged on Friday, May 11.
