Teenage Student Drowns in St Thomas

Latest Jamaica News, St Thomas: A teenage student lost his life by drowning while he was swimming with friends in a section of the sea, in the vicinity of the Morant Bay fishing village in St Thomas, on Sunday, July 28.

Dead is 17-year-old Ronaldo Livingston, a student who attended the Seaforth High School and resided in John Town, also in the parish.

Reports by the Morant Bay police are that about 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Livingston and a group of boys went for a swim in a section of the sea, in the vicinity of the Morant Bay fishing village, when he reportedly met into difficulties.

The student was pulled under the water before help could reach him, and a search was launched for his body.

Sometime later that afternoon, fishermen in the area located the body and fished it from the sea.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the teen’s body was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
