Teenage Boy Among Three Persons Charged For Illegal Firearm and Lottery Scamming in Trelawny

Jamaica Crime News. Trelawny: A man, a woman and a teenage boy, were taken into custody and charged in connection with the seizure of an illegal firearm and involvements in the Lottery Scam, at Coral Springs community, in Trelawny on Thursday, June 13.

The accused have been identified as 21-year-old caretaker, Chad-Wayne Lewin and 29-year-old Joedia Palmer, a Sales Representative, both of Coral Springs.

The name of the teenage boy is being withheld.

Reports by the police are that, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., officers attached to the Lottery Scam Task Force and the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch, carried out operations at sections of Coral Springs, in Duncans, Trelawny.

During the operation, a search was carried out of a two-apartment house occupied by the three accused, and one FNH 5.7 pistol, fitted with an empty magazine was found.

The lawmen also seized a Visa Debit Card and a Samsung cell phone, containing names, addresses and personal information of persons living overseas.

All three were taken into custody and charged with Illegal Possession of Firearm and Ammunition, while Lewin was charged additionally with, Possession of Identity Information with Intent, and Possession of Access Device.
