Teen Who Stabbed Man to Death during Dispute over Ackee, Charged with Murder

Latest Jamaica News, St Ann (McKoy’s News): The St Ann police say they have laid criminal charges against a 17-year-old boy, who stabbed a man to death, during a dispute over some ackees in the community of Tripoli, Run-a-way Bay, St Ann on Friday.

The police say the identity of the teen is being withheld, but he was charged on Monday November 11, with the murder of 20-year-old Okar Campbell.

Reports by the police are that about 6:45 a.m., Campbell and the teen was among a group of other men picking ackees, when a dispute developed between them.

During the dispute, a knife was used to stab Campbell to his upper body and the teen fled the scene. The police were summoned and upon arrival Campbell was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The teen was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon and subsequently charged with murder.
