After releasing a tribute to mothers on Mother’s Day, the Uptop Boss TeeJay is back with a new single for the ladies, titled Pretty Like Kylie.
The song was released on May 13 and is produced by Lion Order Productions. Via Instagram, TeeJay was sure to give a shout out to his female fans, many of whom prefer the “ladies’ anthems”.
TeeJay, whose real name is Timoy Jones, continues to show his range as a dancehall artiste with this new single. The artiste has already covered virtually all the popular themes of the genre- the motivational single, Owna Lane, the gritty, hardcore dancehall, Murda, Murda, the tribute to mama, “A Mother’s Love“, and the classic banger, Henne & Weed.
Pretty Like Kylie is Teejay’s raunchy, unfiltered effort at another sub-genre of dancehall: the sexual ladies’ anthem. Like much of the world, the artiste has taken note of Kylie Jenner’s beauty and sex appeal and thus, the nod to her in the title. The track is as raw as you’d expect a male dancehall artiste to get when talking about women and sex; filled with innuendos on a hardcore baseline that guarantees its place in a dancehall deejay’s set.
TeeJay has, however, released a clean version, fit for radio airplay.
Kylie Jenner, 22, is an American celebrity, most well-known for her role in the reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians and as the founder of a successful cosmetics company which has contributed to making her the world’s youngest billionaire.
Some fans were questioning the singer’s choice of Jenner for his ladies anthem. “Sats why de black woman dem a bleach ana wear horse hair cause a song like dis…kylie ugly nu bloodclaat”, said one listener. “Pretty like who kmt I know he ain’t talking about kylie Jenner”, added another.
The video has gotten some 30,000 views since its release two days ago. Listen to the official audio below:
